Green car hire. Hire ‘n’ Hire are possibly the first of the car hire companies to list the CO2 ratings for their most popular vehicles, and we do so, in order that our customers can take a more informed decision on the choice of model. The principal of green car hire is being perceived as increasingly important.

The future is going to see decreased permissible CO2 emissions, and we at Hire ‘n’ Hire are doing our best to be ahead of forthcoming legislation, although the latest EU proposals for 2012 seem to be potentially devastating for manufacturers of anything other than micro minis.

There are two principal factors in keeping CO2 ratings low. The first, of course, is the inherent design efficiency of the vehicle, and the second is regular, thorough servicing which allows the engine to be efficient. The strict servicing regime at Hire ‘n’ Hire is at least equal to, and more often exceeds manufacturers' recommendations. Diesels, of course, have lower CO2 ratings, but remember they emit harmful particulates.
