Hirenhire are possibly the first of the car hire companies to list the CO2 ratings for their most popular vehicles, and we do so, in order that our customers can take a more informed decision on the choice of model.
The future is going to see decreased permissable CO2 emissions, and we at hirenhire are doing our best to be ahead of forthcoming legislation, although the latest EU proposals for 2012 seem to be potentially devastating for manufacturers of anything other than micro minis.
There are two principal factors in keeping CO2 levels low. The first, of course is the inherent design efficiency of the vehicle, and the second is regular, thorough servicing which allows the engine to be efficient. The strict servicing regime at hirenhire is at least equal to, and more often exceeds manufacturers recommendations. Diesels, of course, have lower CO2 ratings, but remember they emit harmful particulates.
