08 plate Transits, LDV Maxus vans

The first couple of weeks in March saw the delivery of our new Ford Transits. Still the class leader, these new vans drive better than many a car. Particularly if they are fitted with a full bulkhead, the quiet, the comfort and ease of operation all commend the designers.

The supply of transits has been limited for the past year, partly because the assembly lines had to be redesigned, but also because of their own success in selling them worldwide.

All the major manufacturers seemed to produce new models at the same time, but L.D.V., with their new Maxus range, which is lightyears ahead of their Convoy range, (designed shortly before the model T Ford), stole something of a march on the opposition by coming on stream first. By no means a bad product, these vehicles have been well thought out, and the chassis cabs in particular, have the best carrying capacities in the class for our antiquated laws. We run the panel vans already,and hope to receive our first examples of the chassis cab variants before too long.
